Ghana (north-west) and
Ivory Coast (Bouna region, Black Volta)

- The Lobi ethnic groups are the Gans, Birifor, Dagara and Lobi
- Language of Lobi: Lobiri (Lobi or Miwa), a Gour language.
- 4% of the Burkinabe speaks Lobiri (220,172 people)
- 1,8% of the Ivorian speaks Lobiri
- Lobi people also speak French and Dyula
- Traditionally, Lobi have rejected any type of centralised political authority
- Historically, the Lobi communities are based on the laws of God (Thangba yu), Thildar (Thil = spirits of nature) is the religious leader of the Community
- The Lobi have been considered as a warrior people
- Nowadays his music, altars and Lobi statues are very well considered
- The ruins of Loropéni are a UNESCO world heritage site
